Avui volem explicar-te quan utilitzar so do I i neither do I a una conversa en anglès. Utilitzem moltíssim, tant so com either, per a indicar que estem d’acord en alguna cosa. Utilitzem so do I per a indicar en una frase en positiu que estem d’acord i utilitzem neither do I per a indicar que estem d’acord en una frase en negatiu.
Exemples de quan utilitzar so do I i neither do I
Si dic “I like studying online.”
- Si vols indicar que estàs d’acord amb mi (que també t’agrada estudiar online), pots dir: “So do I.”
- Utilitzem “so + verb auxiliar + la persona” que està d’acord.
Si dic “I don’t like traditional classes. I don’t like sitting in a classroom.”
- Si vols indicar que estàs d’acord amb mi (que tampoc t’agraden les classes tradicionals i estar sentat a una classe), pots dir: “Neither do I”.
Canvi de pronom
També podem fer un canvi de pronom si estem parlant d’una altra persona.
- Sue “I love going on holiday in Tenerife.” // Jack “So does she/he/my friend.“
- Sue “I wasn’t going to go.” // Jack “Neither was she.”
Temps verbals quan utilitzem so do I i neither do I
El verb després de so o neither canvia depenent del temps verbal de la primera frase (molt semblant al que succeeix amb els question tags).

Altres formes: too & either
També podem utilitzar I do too i I don’t either que bàsicament significa el mateix que so do I i neither do I.
- “I like London in the autumn.” “I do too” (=I also like London in the autumn).
- “I don’t like living there, though.” “I don’t either” (=I also don’t like living there)
El verb varia de la mateixa manera que amb so do I i neither do I.
- Present perfect: They’ve been to Barcelona. I have too.
- Modal verbs: Sue can’t go early. I can’t go either.
Altres formes: me too & me neither
També podem utilitzar me too i me neither. Funcionen exactament igual. Me too té el mateix significat que “so + verbo auxiliar+I “ i me neither té el mateix significat que “neither + verb auxiliar + I”. Té un ús molt informal.
- “I like London in the autumn.” “Me too” (=I also like London in the autumn).
- “I don’t like living there, though.” “Me neither” (=I also don’t like living there).
